Hardye Leisure Centre
Poundbury, Dorchester 2009
The Thomas Hardye Leisure Centre will make a major contribution to the health and leisure provision for Dorchester.
The building sits on the edge of Poundbury between the new development and the existing town and will contain a large swimming pool and associated facilities.
We are working on behalf of the Duchy of Cornwall with the architects Dyer Group to help develop exterior elevations of the building. Constructed of natural Portland stone and brick with metal roof and bronze windows, we have employed a stripped classical architectural language appropriate to the large volumes required by the pool and ancillary rooms.
