A House in Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire 2009

This house is a substantial Grade II listed former rectory in a fine setting in the Chilterns.

In the 1950s and 60s the house had been extended with a number of unsympathetic additions. We have removed these later additions and in their place will be adding two new wings to create a grand seven-bay facade.

The entrance facade will be constructed in Portland stone to match the central element designed by Quinlan Terry in the late 1980s. The garden fronts will be in soft red brick with stone dressings to match the early Georgian original facade.

Internally the new house will have a grand double height hall and generous accommodation over three floors.
