Poundbury Ecohomes

This site of six apartments and five large townhouses occupies the site of a former factory car park in Poundbury. 

The buildings were constructed by ZeroC to Ecohomes Excellent standard, the first such project in Poundbury, and incorporate various systainable technologies as well as robust well insulated shell. They are intended to demonstrate that environmental building features can be incorporated into a traditional architectural aesthetic.

The site is next to a large factory and faces open parkland. For this reason, a relatively robust architectural language was called for, and we designed the houses using a plain mid 19th century style.
